Kathy Ratliff

Principal Consultant

Kathy joined RGS in 2014 as a Principal Consultant two months after retiring from the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). She knew she was NOT ready to stop working altogether, but wanted to find a position that she enjoyed and felt would make a positive contribution. She hit the jackpot with the opportunity to go back to her first love of recruiting and supporting NAVAIR. Thus, the marriage between RGS and Kathy began.

Kathy brings 32 years of government experience with her. She started her civil service career in 1982 as a Clerk Typist at the Naval Supply Center in Norfolk, Virginia, and over the years worked her way up the ranks, eventually being promoted to Program Manager, Special Recruitment Branch, where she oversaw and managed the Engineer, Scientist, and Development Program and Acquisition Intern Program in 2007. A year prior to her retirement, she was the Program Manager for the Drug-Free Workplace Program.

Kathy currently provides support to the Enterprise Talent Management Office (ETMO) Team. She is a recipient of the 2014 RGS Great Team Award, as well as the NAVSEA Team Excellence Award in support of the Navy Civilian Careers Recruiting, Diversity, and Affinity Recruiting Partnership.

Kathy grew up in Chesapeake/Virginia Beach, Virginia. She studied dance (tap, ballet and jazz) for 25 years. She made the cut for the Norfolk Civic Ballet Company, however, discovered she was expecting her first child and had to decline. Kathy is married to her very best friend, Randy, has four grown children, seven grandchildren, and two cats (Kate and Leopold). Kathy loves life and her family. Her favorite vacation spot is at the beach, where she enjoys smelling the salt air and listening to the waves roll in.
