Kara Reed

Corporate Recruiter/Assistant Facilities Security Officer

Kara joined RGS in 2012 to support and lead the corporate recruiting efforts as part of the Human Resources Department.  She manages and executes the full lifecycle recruitment process for both funded and proposal opportunities.  She maintains a strong relationship with her hiring managers, and faces each position with a positive RGS attitude.  In addition to managing the recruitment process, she helps to oversee the security as an assistant Facilities Security Officer.  Kara was involved in the development of the RGS’ Annual Affirmative Action program, as well as co-chairing the United Way Campaign in 2012.

Kara was awarded the RGS President’s Award in 2013, which is given to the RGS associate who helps achieve the mission of delivering solutions for positive change through innovative technologies, techniques, and teamwork. She exemplifies the RGS core values of win-win relationships, personal responsibility, integrity, and open and honest communications.

Kara attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Go Hokies!) and earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology. She has a husband, whom she met at college and is a mom to an inquisitive pug named Stitch. In her free time, Kara loves to travel, read, and explore new restaurants with family and friends.
